In response to the identification of national-level needs for the LCC enterprise, the U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution recently convened a representative national “strategy team” to create a proposal for an LCC national body that would protect the self-directed nature of the LCCs while promoting an integrated LCC network.
In late 2012, the LCC National Strategy Team, composed of Federal, State, Tribal, NGO, and LCC representatives, sought feedback on the proposed purpose, goals, organizational framework, and composition outlined in the draft charter for the LCC National Council. After reviewing and incorporating feedback, the strategy team will finalize the interim charter and will initiate the LCC National Council member recruitment and selection process.
